3 Minute Thesis Competition

Researcher

Laine Rumreich

  • Graduate Research Associate, Dept of Engineering Education

Laine Rumreich, URA, presented at the 3 Minute Thesis Event hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry.  This was held on October 8th, 2019 at The Ohio State University.

Event Background: The 3 Minute Thesis is an event founded at the University of Queensland that has now spread across the globe due to its increased accessibility and interesting format. At these events, participants have only three minutes to present their research using everyday spoken language, a task that many find more challenging than expected.

FYRE Participation: Laine Rumreich presented at this event because of the increased challenge the event presented. She showcased her research on quantifying and analyzing code complexity of first year engineering students’ software design projects. Her presentation was well received.

Future Plans: Laine will also be presenting about this project at the Frontiers in Education (FIE) Conference in Cincinnati from October 16th-19th, 2019.
