Laine Rumreich, URA, presented at the 49th Annual Frontiers in Education (FIE) Conference in Cincinnati, OH in October of 2019.

Event Background: This event is a major international conference focusing on educational innovations and research in engineering and computing education.

FYRE Participation: Laine Rumreich presented two work-in-progress papers at this event. The first one was for her undergraduate thesis project focusing on student perceptions of iPad technologies in first-year engineering. She also showcased her research on quantifying and analyzing code complexity of first-year engineering students’ software design projects. For both papers, she completed both an oral presentation and a question-and-answer poster session.

Future Plans: Laine will continue working on both of the research projects she presented at this conference and hopes to publish them as full papers.
