Laine Rumreich and Ada Barach, URAs, presented their undergraduate research theses at the 25th Annual Denman Research Forum at The Ohio State University in March 2020.

Event Background: The Richard J. and Martha D. Denman Undergraduate Research Forum is a judged exhibition of student research. The Denman limits participation to 200 graduating seniors and is typically held in the spring semester.

FYRE Participation: Laine presented her completed undergraduate research thesis on student and instructor perceptions of iPad use in First-Year Engineering courses at Ohio State. Ada also presented her undergraduate thesis which discusses the replication of a previously validated computer science concept inventory for use in assessing student understanding in First-Year Engineering courses.

Future Plans: Ada will continue to work on this project and hopes to successfully defend her undergraduate thesis in late March. Although her thesis project is finished, Laine hopes to survey first-year students again next year to study how perceptions of iPad technologies have changed since the initial data were recorded in Autumn of 2018.
